This is an extract from the Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC) to assist in the administration of Gentamicin 40 mg/ml Injection. You should however be familiar with the full SPC. Gentamicin Injection should not be mixed with other drugs before injection and where co-administration of penicillins, cephalosporins, erythromycin, lipiphysan, sulphadiazine, furosemide, betalactam antibiotics and heparin is necessary, the drugs should be administered separately, either as bolus injections into the tubing of the giving set or at separate sites. Addition of gentamicin to solutions containing bicarbonate may lead to the release of carbon dioxide.

Gammanorm is an immunoglobulin and contains antibodies against bacteria and viruses. Antibodies protect the body and increase its resistance to infections. The purpose of this treatment is to attain normal antibody levels.

Fuzeon inhibits the entry of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) into the cells that HIV attacks (called CD4 or T-cells) in your blood. It works by preventing the HIV from making contact with the affected cell membrane. This means that the HIV cannot enter the cell and then it cannot multiply.

The name of your medicine is Fungizone Intravenous. Fungizone Intravenous contains the active ingredient amphotericin, which belongs to a group of medicines called anti-fungal antibiotics. Always tell your doctor or pharmacist about other medicines you may be taking or have recently taken including those obtained without a prescription.

Each ml of solution contains 24 mg of the active ingredient, foscarnet trisodium hexahydrate in water. The product also contains sufficient hydrochloric acid to adjust the acidity of the solution to be similar to the blood. Foscavir is a sterile solution for injection into a vein.
